riding pillion behind Abū Ṭalḥah, and they were loudly proclaiming both together—Hajj and ʿUmrah. In another wording (1), transmitted by Ayyūb from an unnamed man, from Anas, he said: “He stayed there until daybreak, performed the dawn prayer, then mounted his camel; when it reached al-Bayḍāʾ he entered iḥrām for an ʿUmrah and a Hajj.”

ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣuhayb. His narration from Anas, together with that of Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl, has already been cited from Muslim.
-
ʿAlī ibn Zayd ibn Judʿān on his authority. Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū Bakr al-Bazzār said: “Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn Ḥakīm narrated to us; from Sharīk, from ʿAlī ibn Zayd, from Anas: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ proclaimed the talbiyah for both rites together.” This chain is unusual through this route, and none of the compilers of the Sunan recorded it, even though it meets their conditions.

Qatādah ibn Diʿāmah al-Sadūsī on his authority. Imām Aḥmad said: “Bahz and ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us—conveying the same meaning; they said: Hammām ibn Yahyā narrated to us; Qatādah narrated: I asked Anas ibn Mālik, ‘How many times did the Prophet ﷺ perform Hajj?’ He replied, ‘One Hajj, and he performed ʿUmrah four times: his ʿUmrah during the year of al-Hudaybiyyah; an ʿUmrah in Dhū al-Qaʿdah from Madinah; an ʿUmrah from al-Jiʿrānah in Dhū al-Qaʿdah when he distributed the spoils of Ḥunayn; and the ʿUmrah that accompanied his Hajj.’ The two Shaykhs included it in their Ṣaḥīḥs (10) through the narration of Hammām ibn Yahyā.

Muṣʿab ibn Sulaym al-Zubayrī, their client, on his authority. Imām Aḥmad said: “Wakīʿ narrated to us; Muṣʿab ibn Sulaym narrated to us: I heard Anas ibn Mālik say, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered iḥrām for a Hajj and an ʿUmrah.’” Aḥmad alone transmitted it.
