He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, by Him who sent you with the truth, I did not return until I had left it looking like a mangy camel.”

Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ invoked blessing upon the cavalry of Ahmas and its men five times.

Muslim likewise transmitted the report—through several chains—from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim, from Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Bajalī in similar wording.
