36 – Hammād narrated from Ibrāhīm, from Hammām: A man was once hosted by ʿĀʾishah, Mother of the Believers. She sent him a mantle, and he wrapped himself in it for the night. He then entered a state of janābah (major ritual impurity), so he washed the entire mantle. She said, “Why did he wash the whole mantle? It would have been enough for him to rub it off. I myself used to rub it from the garment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he would then pray in it.”
