24 – Hammad reported from Ibrahim, from Abu ʿAbd Allah al-Jadali, from Khuzaimah ibn Thabit, that the Prophet ﷺ said about wiping over khuffayn (leather socks): “For the resident, one day and one night; for the traveller, three days and their nights. He is not to remove his leather socks once he has put them on while in a state of ablution.”
In another wording: “The period for wiping over leather socks is three days for the traveller and one day and one night for the resident, provided he has performed ablution before putting them on, should he so wish.”
