18 – Ḥammād narrated from al-Shaʿbī, from Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah:
Al-Mughīrah said: “I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. He went off to relieve himself, and when he returned he was wearing a Roman jubbah—a cloak with narrow sleeves. Because the cuffs were tight, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised the cloak to free his arms. I then poured water for him from the small water-skin I was carrying, and he performed the ablution for prayer, wiping over his leather socks without removing them. After that he stepped forward and led the prayer.”
