17 – Ḥammād related from Ibrāhīm, from Hammām ibn al-Ḥārith: He observed Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Bajalī (may Allah be pleased with him) perform ablution and wipe over his leather socks. When he asked him about that practice, Jarīr replied, “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it, and I only joined his company after Sūrah al-Māʾidah had been revealed.”
