10 – Narrated by Makkī ibn Ibrāhīm, from Ibn Luhayʿah, from Abū Qubayl. He said: I heard Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Muzanī say: I heard Thawbān, the freedman of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declare:
“I would not wish to possess the whole world and all it contains in exchange for this verse: ‘Say, My servants who have transgressed against their own selves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy; indeed, Allah forgives all sins’ (Az-Zumar 53).”
A man asked, “Even shirk?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent. The man repeated, “And the one who has associated partners?” Again the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept silent. Then he finally said, “Yes—even the one who has committed shirk.”
