5 – Hammād related from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The pen has been lifted from three: from the child until he grows up, from the insane person until he recovers his reason, and from the sleeper until he wakes up.”

In another narration, Hammād related from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the insane person until he regains his senses, and from the child until he reaches puberty.”
