- ʿAlqamah narrated from Ibn Buraidah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) once said to his Companions, “Would you be pleased to make up a quarter of the people of Paradise?” They replied, “Yes.” He asked, “Would you be pleased to make up a third of the people of Paradise?” They replied, “Yes.” He asked, “Would you be pleased to make up half of the people of Paradise?” They replied, “Yes.” He then said, “Rejoice! The people of Paradise will be one hundred and twenty ranks, and my ummah will constitute eighty of those ranks.”
٣ - عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ﵁، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا لِأَصْحَابِهِ: " أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبْعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: أَبْشِرُوا فَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ، أُمَّتِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ ثَمَانُونَ صَفًّا "
