28 – Awn narrated from ʿĀmir al-Shaʿbī, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
“There are seven distinctive favors granted to me that none of the other wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ enjoyed: He married me while I was a virgin, and he married no other woman of his wives as a virgin besides me; Gabriel, peace be upon him, came down carrying my likeness before he married me, and he never descended with the likeness of any other wife; Gabriel showed himself to me, and none of his other wives ever saw him; of all of them I was the dearest to him—both personally and because of my father; verses of the Quran were revealed about me, verses through which groups of people were almost destroyed; he died on my night and on my day; and he passed away with his head resting between my chest and my throat.”
In another wording she said: “Indeed, within me are seven qualities that are in none of his other wives: he married me as a virgin and married no other virgin; Gabriel brought him my likeness before he married me, and Gabriel did not bring him the likeness of any other wife; I was the most beloved of them to him—both in myself and through my father; my innocence was revealed from heaven, an affair through which groups of people nearly perished; he died on my day and my night, and while his head lay between my chest and my throat; and Gabriel showed himself to me, though none of his other wives ever saw him.”
Ibrahim narrated from Masrūq: “Whenever he related something on the authority of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), he would say, ‘The Truthful One, daughter of the Truthful One, the one exonerated [by revelation], the beloved of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, has narrated to me.’”
