- Abu Ḥuṣayn narrated—from Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj—that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by an orchard that pleased him. He asked, “Whose is this?” I replied, “It is mine.” He said, “How did you come to possess it?” I answered, “I rented it.” He responded, “Do not rent it for any share of its yield.”
In another version: the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by an orchard and said, “Whose is this?” I replied, “It is mine, and I have rented it.” He said, “Then do not rent it for anything that comes from it.”
