20 – Through Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, who said: Ribʿī ibn Ḥirāsh told me, from Hudhayfah, who said:
“A servant will be brought before Allah, Exalted is He, on the Day of Resurrection. The servant will say, ‘My Lord, I did nothing but good, and I intended by it only to meet You. I used to be lenient with the one who was well-off and give respite to the one in hardship.’ Allah, the Exalted, will say, ‘I am more entitled to that than you, so overlook My servant.’ ”
Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī then said, “I too bear witness concerning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said this, for I heard it from him.”
