12 – Ḥammād narrated from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said, “Whoever wishes, I am ready to engage him in mutual imprecation that the shorter ‘Chapter of Women’ was revealed after the longer one.”
In another report, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd, traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “The shorter ‘Chapter of Women’ abrogated every prescribed waiting period: ‘And those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burden’ (al-Ṭalāq 65:4).”
