Musnad Abi Hanifah Riwayat al-HaskafiAbu Hanifa

10 – Shaybān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān reported from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from al-Muhājir ibn ʿIkrimah, from Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “A virgin is not to be married off until her consent is sought, and her silence counts as her approval; nor is a previously-married woman to be married off until she gives express permission.”
In another wording: “A virgin may not be given in marriage until her consent is solicited, and her approval is her silence; and a previously-married woman is not to be married off until she permits it.”
A third wording reads: “A virgin must not be married off until her consent is sought; if she remains silent, that is her permission. A previously-married woman is not to be married off until she grants permission.”
