5 – ʿAbd al-Malik reported, on the authority of a man from Syria, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
A man came to him and asked, “Messenger of Allah, shall I marry So-and-so?” He forbade him to do so. The man returned a second time, and again he forbade him. When he came a third time, the Prophet repeated his prohibition and then said, “A dark-skinned, fertile woman is dearer to me than a beautiful woman who is barren.”
