1 – Al-Qāsim related—through his father—from ʿAbdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the khutbah al-ḥājah, meaning the introductory sermon for marriage:
“Indeed, all praise belongs to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and seek His guidance. Whoever Allah guides, none can mislead; and whoever He lets go astray, none can guide. We testify that there is no deity but Allah, and we testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
O you who believe, be mindful of Allah with the mindfulness He deserves, and do not die except in a state of submission. Be mindful of Allah, by whose name you appeal to one another, and of the ties of kinship; surely Allah is ever Watchful over you. O you who believe, be mindful of Allah and speak words that are straight; He will set your deeds right for you and forgive you your sins. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has attained a great triumph.”
