16 – Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated from Abu Qatadah, who said: “I set out with a party of the Prophet’s Companions ﷺ, and in that company no one was outside the state of ihram (ritual consecration) but me. I then spotted an ostrich, so I went over to my horse, mounted it, and, in my haste, left my whip behind. I said to them, ‘Hand it to me,’ but they refused. So I dismounted, took up my whip, pursued the ostrich, cut some of its meat, and I ate while they too ate.”
