25 – ʿAtiyyah al-ʿAwfī reported: I heard Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī say, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite, ‘It may be that your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station’ (17:79). He then said, ‘Allah, exalted is He, will bring out of the Fire a people of faith—those who faced the qiblah—through the intercession of Muhammad ﷺ; that is the Praiseworthy Station. They will be taken to a river called al-Ḥayawān (Life), into which they will be cast, and they will sprout again just as tender shoots spring up. When they emerge, they will enter Paradise, where they will be known as “the Hell-folk.” They will then beseech Allah the Exalted to remove that name from them, and He will remove it from them.’”
