8 – Ibrāhīm narrated from his father, who said: I asked Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them), “May a person in iḥrām apply perfume?” He replied, “To wake up smeared with tar is dearer to me than to wake up smeared with fragrance.”
So I went to ʿĀʾishah and told her what he had said. She responded, “I myself perfumed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; he then went round to his wives, and the next morning he was”—meaning: in iḥrām (ritual consecration).
Another narration states: “I used to perfume the Prophet ﷺ, then he would go round among his wives, and in the morning he would enter iḥrām.”
