6 – From Abū al-Sawwār—also known as Abū al-Sawdāʾ al-Salmī—through Abū Ḥājib, from Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him): “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) underwent cupping at al-Qāḥa while he was fasting.”
In another wording he said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had himself cupped at al-Qāḥa while he was both in iḥrām and fasting.”
A further narration states: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) “had himself cupped and paid the cupper his wage; had it been something blameworthy, he would not have given him anything.”
