3 – It is narrated from Ibrahim, from his father, from Humayd ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Himyari, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man from among his Companions on the Day of ʿAshuraʾ: “Instruct your people to fast this day.” The man replied, “They have already eaten.” He said, “Even if they have eaten.”
