91 – Al-Ḥarith narrated, through Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Umm Hānīʾ (may Allah be pleased with her): “On the day Mecca was conquered, the Prophet ﷺ set down his coat of mail, then called for some water and poured it over it. After that he requested a single garment and prayed in it.” Another wording adds: “with the garment wrapped around himself.”
In one version it reads: The Prophet ﷺ “put aside his armor on the day Mecca was conquered, then asked for water. It was brought in a large basin that still held bits of dough; he screened himself with a cloth, bathed, then asked for a garment, wrapped it around himself, and performed two units of prayer.” Abū Ḥanīfah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Those were the Ḍuḥā (forenoon) prayers.”
A further narration states: “When Mecca was conquered the Prophet ﷺ laid aside his armor and asked for water, which was fetched in a bowl bearing traces of dough. He bathed and then prayed four—or two—rakʿahs in a single garment, draping it around himself.”
