Musnad Abi Hanifah Riwayat al-HaskafiAbu Hanifa

81 – Hammād narrated from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once led a prayer—either Zuhr or ʿAsr—and he added to it or left something out. When he finished and pronounced the concluding salutation, it was said to him, “Has something new been introduced into the prayer, or did you forget?” He replied, “I forget just as you forget; so whenever I forget, remind me.” He then turned his face toward the qiblah, performed two prostrations, recited the tashahhud in them, and finally gave the salutation to his right and to his left.
