77 – Zubayd ibn al-Ḥārith al-Yāmī narrated, from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abzā, who said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in his witr: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High’ in the first rakʿah, ‘Say, “O you who disbelieve”’ in the second, and ‘Say, “He is Allah, the One”’ in the third.”
Another wording states that the Prophet ﷺ “used to recite in the witr, in the first rakʿah: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High’; in the second: ‘Say to those …’—that is, ‘Say, “O you who disbelieve,”’ which is how it appears in the recitation of Ibn Masʿūd—and in the third: ‘Say, “He is Allah, the One.”’
A further report says that he “would recite in witr, in the first rakʿah: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High’; in the second: ‘Say, “O you who disbelieve”’; and in the third: ‘Say, “He is Allah, the One.”’
Yet another narration reads: “He used to perform the witr as three rakʿahs, in which he recited: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,’ ‘Say, “O you who disbelieve,”’ and ‘Say, “He is Allah, the One.””
