74 – Abū Yaʿfūr al-ʿAbdī narrated—from an unnamed transmitter—on the authority of Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah the Exalted has granted you an additional prayer, and it is the witr.”
In another wording: “Allah the Exalted has made certain prayers obligatory for you, and He has added for you the witr.”
In yet another wording: “Allah the Exalted has added for you the witr prayer.”
And in a further wording: “Allah the Exalted has granted you an extra prayer—namely the witr—so guard it carefully.”
٧٤ - عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورَ الْعَبْدِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ﵁، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً وَهُوَ وِتْرٌ» ، وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى افْتَرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ، وَزَادَكُمُ الْوِتْرَ» ، وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةَ الْوِتْرِ» ، وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً، وَهِيَ الْوِتْرُ، فَحَافِظُوا عَلَيْهَا»
