59 – Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated, through ʿAmrah, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her):
People would make their way to the Friday prayer (jumuʿah) sweaty and streaked with mud, so it was said to them: “Whoever sets out for the Friday prayer should bathe.”
In another narration: The people were farmers working their land, and when they went to the prayer sweat and dust clung to them, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, “When you attend the Friday prayer, take a bath.”
