They will say, “Our Lord, what could possibly be better than this?” He will answer, “My good pleasure; after that I shall never be angry with you.” (1)
In another wording the phrase “of faith” appears in place of “of good.” That narration continues: “The All-Compelling One will then say, ‘My intercession still remains.’ He will seize a handful from the Fire and bring out people who have been completely scorched, then He will cast them into a river at the outskirts of Paradise…,” and so forth. (2) He did not say, “who never performed any good deed at all.”
In the two Ṣaḥīḥs it is related from Ibn (3) Masʿūd that the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “I certainly know the last inhabitant of the Fire to emerge from it and the last to enter Paradise: a man who will crawl out of the Fire. Allah will say to him, ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will go and imagine it to be full…—until he said—…then Allah will say to him, ‘Go, for you shall have ten times the like of the world,’ or, ‘You shall have the world and ten times its like.’” (4)
In another narration recorded by Muslim He will say to him, “Wish!” So the man will make his wishes, and it will be said to him, “You shall have what you wished for—and ten times as much.” (5)
