Likewise, in the two Ṣaḥīḥs there is a ḥadīth narrated by Abū Saʿīd who said:

“When the believers have been delivered from Hell, by Him in whose hand is my soul, no one will plead with Allah more urgently (1) for the fulfilment of the believers’ right on the Day of Resurrection than they will for their brothers who are in the Fire. They will say, ‘Our Lord, they used to fast with us, pray with us, and perform ḥajj with us.’ He will then say (2), ‘Bring out those whom you recognize.’ Their faces will be made forbidden to the Fire, and they will bring out a great many people, some of whom the Fire has reached to the middle of their shins, and others to their knees.

They will say, ‘Our Lord, none of those whom You commanded us to bring out remains inside.’ He will say, ‘Go back and bring out everyone in whose heart you find the weight of a dinar of good.’ They will bring out a great many people.

Then He will say, ‘Go back; whoever you find in whose heart is the weight of a particle of good, bring him out.’ They will bring out a great many people.”

Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī used to say, “If you do not believe me concerning this ḥadīth, then recite, if you wish:

‘Indeed, Allah does not wrong even the weight of an atom; and if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and grants from Himself a tremendous reward.’ (3)

Allah will then say, “The angels have interceded, the prophets have interceded, and the believers have interceded, and only the Most Merciful of those who show mercy remains.” He will seize a handful from the Fire and cast them into a river at the outskirts of Paradise, called the River of Life. They will sprout forth like a seed that grows in the silt carried by a torrent.

The Messenger said: “They will emerge glistening like pearls, with seals upon their necks. The people of Paradise will recognize them and say, ‘These are Allah’s emancipated ones—those whom Allah admitted to Paradise without any deed they performed or good they sent ahead, yet He granted it to them.’

Then He will say, ‘Enter Paradise; whatever you behold is yours.’ They will say, ‘Our Lord, You have given us what You have not given to anyone among all created beings.’ He will say, ‘I have something even better for you than this.’”
