—Exalted and Most High.”

Imam Ahmad also said:

“If you wish to know that the Jahmī is lying about Allah when he claims that He is everywhere, and not in one place rather than another, say to him:

‘Did Allah not exist when nothing else existed?’

He will say, ‘Yes.’

Then say to him, ‘When He created something, did He create it within Himself or outside Himself?’

He will then be left with three positions, [and must adopt] one of them. If he claims that Allah created creation within Himself, he has disbelieved by claiming that He created the creatures, the devils, and Iblīs within Himself.

If he says that He created them outside Himself and then entered into them, this too is disbelief, since he claims that He entered every desolate, filthy [foul] place.

But if he says that He created them outside Himself and then did not enter
