concerning Allah Most High—that He will be seen in the Hereafter. These are hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) that cannot be rejected. The Quran bears witness that Allah will be seen on the Day of Resurrection. Abraham said to his father:

“O my father, why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees?” [Maryam 42]

Thus, it is established that Allah hears and sees. Allah Most High said:

“He knows the secret and what is even more hidden.” {7} [Tā Hā 7]

And He said:

“Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.” {46} [Tā Hā 46]

Abū ‘Abd Allāh said: “Whoever rejects and dismisses the Book of Allah and the reports from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), invents a doctrine of his own, and interprets according to his own opinion has indeed suffered a manifest loss.”

I heard Abū ‘Abd Allāh say: “Whoever says that Allah will not be seen in the Hereafter has disbelieved, denied the Quran, and rejected Allah’s command. He must be called upon to repent. If he repents, so be it; otherwise, he is to be put to death.”

It is related from Ya‘qūb ibn Bukhtān that he heard Abū ‘Abd Allāh say: “Their love has become outright disbelief. They say that Allah, blessed and exalted be He, will not be seen in the Hereafter.” And I heard him say: “Their disbelief takes various forms.”
