servant who turns to Him {8}. And We sent down blessed water from the sky, bringing forth thereby gardens and grain for harvest {9}, and towering palm trees with clustered fruit {10}, as provision for Our servants. And We gave life thereby to a lifeless land. Thus will be the resurrection {11}.” [Qāf 7–11]
Such passages abound in the Book of Allah Most High. They explain how things are created from, by means of, and within other things, linking this to our own seeing and witnessing it. For example, He, Most High, says:
“Have they not seen that We created livestock for them from what Our hands have made, and that they own them {71}?”
And later in the passage:
“Has man not seen that We created him from a sperm-drop, yet he becomes an open adversary {77}?” [Yā Sīn 71–77]
And He, Most High, says:
“O mankind, if you are in doubt about the resurrection, then indeed We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed, so that We may make things clear to you.” [al-Hajj 5]
And He, Most High, says:
“Do they not look at the camels—how they were created {17}; and at the sky—how it was raised {18}; and at the mountains—how they were set firm {19}; and at the earth—how it was spread out {20}?” [al-Ghāshiyah 17–20]
And Abraham, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He said, “Do you not believe?” He replied, “Yes, but so that my heart may be reassured.” He said, “Then take four birds and draw them close to you.” [al-Baqarah 260]
The second consideration: As for entities coming into existence initially, without any pre-existing matter or clay, this is something we have never witnessed at all.
