al-Khīwaqī, known as al-Kubrā, told him that two leading scholars of speculative theology had visited him: one was Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Rāzī, and the other was one of the Muʿtazilite shaykhs in those lands—the regions of Jurjān and Khwārazm.
