clear, while whatever contradicts it is ambiguous. This is among the gravest forms of deviation concerning the names of Allah Most High and His verses. Thus, the position he ultimately adopted in this book was that of the heretics who say that he told ordinary people what he knew to be false because their minds could not accept the truth. He therefore addressed them in terms of corporealism, despite knowing it to be false.
This is an argument the heretics used against these thinkers concerning resurrection. They said, “He also addressed them in terms of resurrection, just as he addressed them in terms of corporealism.” These thinkers distinguished between the two on the grounds that resurrection is necessarily known to be part of the Messenger’s religion. A fuller discussion of this belongs elsewhere.
