and the earth, just as He stated without qualification that it existed before the heavens and the earth. In several places, He has also declared that He is its Lord and Possessor, distinguishing it from the heavens and the earth, as in His words:
“Say, ‘Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne?’ (86) They will say, ‘They belong to Allah.’ Say, ‘Will you not then fear Him?’ (87)” [al-Mu’minūn: 86–87]
In the two Sahīh collections, Ibn ‘Abbās, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would say in times of distress:
“There is no god but Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.”
He said concerning the people of Sheba:
“So they do not prostrate to Allah, who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you reveal. (25) Allah—there is no god but Him, Lord of the Mighty Throne. (26)”
