And according to the unionists, there are no false objects of worship, since, in their view, whoever worships anything is only worshipping Allah. Yet it is known with the utmost self-evident certainty that those who worshipped Yaghūth, Ya‘ūq, Nasr, and all the other idols were not worshipping Allah. They were polytheists and enemies of Allah, not His allies. There are many such examples, but this is not the place to discuss them at length.

These Jahmīs who deny the divine attributes either agree with these people or [unclear text]. If they agree with them, their unbelief would be more manifest than that of the Jews, Christians, and Arab polytheists, and their denial of numerous self-evident truths would exceed even that of the Sophists.
