He Himself performs are commensurate with His essence, and are too great and sublime for human minds to comprehend their full measure. Now, it is known that these things which come into being through the transformation of the elements and generated bodies bear a greater proportion to the celestial sphere than a mustard seed does to a large human being—for a human being contains more mustard-seed-sized units than the celestial sphere contains units the size of the elements and generated bodies. Yet the celestial spheres and everything within them bear a smaller proportion to the Lord Most High than the things originating within them bear to the celestial sphere.
If these things can be brought into being through an observable motion that originates in the celestial sphere, then it is all the more possible, and further removed from impossibility, for the celestial sphere and everything within it to come into being through an act performed by the Lord—and to Him belongs the highest description. This is so even though, according to them, these originated things are attributed solely to the emanation of the active intellect, while the motions of all the celestial spheres prepare the receptive subjects. These originated things would then bear a considerable proportion to that—far greater than the proportion of a mustard seed to a human being.
Thus this will become apparent to His servants at the Resurrection, when the Compeller grasps the earth in His hand, folds up the heavens in His right hand, then shakes them and says:
“I am the King! Where are the kings of the earth?”
“Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?”
