The nineteenth point is that He, Mighty and Majestic, said concerning the disbelievers:
“No! Indeed, on that Day they will be veiled from their Lord.” (15) [al-Mutaffifīn 15]
He thus specified that this veiling would occur on that Day. If it meant merely the non-creation of vision, they would have been veiled all along.
The twentieth point is that He, Exalted is He, singled them out for this, to the exclusion of the believers, and made it part of their punishment. If it meant merely the non-creation of vision, the believers in this world would likewise be veiled and punished by the very veil with which the disbelievers are veiled in the Hereafter. It is thus known that this is a particular veil by which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, veils the disbelievers when He manifests Himself to the righteous.
The twenty-first point is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said in the account of Moses:
“When Moses came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, ‘My Lord, show Yourself to me so that I may look upon You.’ He said, ‘You will not see Me, but look at the mountain: if it remains firm in its place, then you will see Me.’ But when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He reduced it to dust, and Moses fell unconscious.” [al-A'rāf 143]
He, Glorified is He, thus stated that He manifested Himself to the mountain and that, when He did so, He reduced it to dust. His manifestation to it must therefore mean either merely creating vision within it—as they claim is His manifestation to all who see Him—or lifting the veil so that He appeared to the mountain. If manifestation meant creating vision, He would have stated that the mountain was able to bear seeing Him and that the mountain saw Allah. If that were so, it would not
