every perfume on the face of the earth; that wind would know better how to apply that musk than the woman would if she were given those perfumes, by Allah’s leave.’

He said, ‘Then Allah Most High will give instructions to the bearers of the Throne, and it will be set down in the midst of Paradise, with everything in Paradise beneath it and veils between them and Him. The first thing they will hear from Him will be: “Where are My servants who obeyed Me without seeing Me, believed My messengers, and followed My command? Ask Me, for this is the Day of Increase.”’

He said, ‘They will all respond with one voice: “Our Lord, we are pleased with You, so be pleased with us.”’

He said, ‘Allah Most High will reply: “People of Paradise, had I not been pleased with you, I would not have settled you in My Paradise. This is the Day of Increase, so ask Me.”’

He said, ‘They will all respond with one voice: “Our Lord, Your Face! Your Face! Show Yourself to us so that we may look upon You.”’

He said, ‘Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will uncover those veils.’ He said, ‘He will reveal Himself to them.’ He said, ‘Some of His light will envelop them. Had He not decreed that they would not burn, they would have burned from His light enveloping them.’

He said, ‘Then they will be told: “Return to your dwellings.”’ He said, ‘They will return to their dwellings, hidden from their wives and their wives hidden from them because of His light that has enveloped them. When they reach their dwellings, the light will increase and become more firmly established until they return to their former appearance.’
