And Sulaymān’s wording, from Thābit, from Ibn Abī Laylā, is that he was asked about Allah’s statement, “For those who do good is the best reward—and more.” He said:
“Once the people of Paradise enter Paradise and are granted bliss and honour there, they will be called: ‘O people of Paradise, Allah has promised you an additional reward.’”
He said: “Then the veil will be lifted, and He, Blessed and Exalted, will reveal Himself to them. What do you imagine their state will be, after their scales have weighed heavy, their records have flown into their right hands, they have passed over their bridge and made it across, and they have entered Paradise and been granted bliss and honour there?”
He said: “It will be as though all this were nothing compared with what they are then given.”
In Maʿmar’s narration from Thābit, from Ibn Abī Laylā, he said: “The additional reward is looking upon Allah’s noble Face.”
