And He said:
“Here you are, arguing about matters of which you have knowledge. Why, then, do you argue about matters of which you have no knowledge?” [Āl Imrān: 66]
And He said:
“They dispute with you concerning the truth after it has become clear.” [al-Anfāl: 6]
Thus, He condemned those who say what they do not know, those who speak untruth, those who dispute about matters of which they have no knowledge, and those who argue for falsehood. As the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Judges are of three kinds: two will be in the Fire and one in Paradise. A man who knows the truth and judges accordingly will be in Paradise. A man who judges between people in ignorance will be in the Fire. And a man who knows the truth but judges contrary to it will be in the Fire.”
Allah Most High said elsewhere:
“Allah has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their souls desire.” [al-Najm: 23]
And He said:
“They have no knowledge of it. They follow nothing but conjecture, and conjecture is of no avail against the truth (28).” [al-Najm: 28]
Allah Most High said:
“Among people are those who dispute about Allah without knowledge, guidance, or an enlightening Book (8).” [al-Hajj: 8]
