gather, saying, “Gather so that I may recite to you one-third of the Quran.” When they had gathered, he recited it to them. It is a surah learned by young and old, free and enslaved, men and women. He also established the practice of reciting it in the two units of prayer before the dawn prayer and the two following circumambulation.

One of his Companions would always recite it in prayer alongside another surah. He said, “Ask him why he does that.” The man replied, “I love it because it describes the Most Merciful.” He said, “Tell him that Allah loves him.”
