Abī ‘Arūbah said: al-Hasan and Qatādah used to say: “Al-Samad is the One who remains after His creation has perished.”

Al-Hadramī narrated to us, saying: al-Husayn ibn Yazīd al-Tahhān narrated to us, saying: Ishāq ibn Mansūr al-Salūlī narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Zuray‘, from Sa‘īd ibn Abī ‘Arūbah, from Qatādah, from al-Hasan, who said: “Al-Samad is the One who outlasts His creation.”

Abū Khalīfah narrated to us, saying: Ibn Hisāb narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Thawr informed us, from Ma‘mar, from al-Hasan, who said: “Al-Samad is the Everlasting.”
