‘O Muhammad, describe your Lord to us.’ Then Allah Most High revealed: ‘Say: He is Allah, the One.’ They said, ‘As for the One, we know what that means; but what is the Eternal Refuge?’ He said, ‘The One who is not hollow.’”

Al-Husayn ibn Ishāq narrated to us, saying: Al-Himmānī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Rabī‘ah al-Kilābī narrated to us, saying: Mustaqīm ibn ‘Abd al-Malik narrated to us, from Sa‘īd ibn al-Musayyab, who said: “The Eternal Refuge is the One who has no internal organs.”

‘Abd al-Rahmān narrated to us, saying: Sahl narrated to us, saying: Al-Hakam ibn Zuhayr narrated to us, from Yahyā ibn al-Mukhtār, from al-Hasan, who said concerning the Eternal Refuge: “The One who is not hollow.”
