among you, ‘O Allah, admit me to the abode of Your mercy,’ for the abode of His mercy is His Self.”

He said: Abū al-Bakhtarī has thus stated that Allah’s mercy is within His Self. Likewise, Allah Most High said:

“Indeed, the Hour is coming; I almost conceal it.” [Tā Hā 15]

Then Ibn Numayr narrated to us: Muhammad ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, from Abū Sālih al-Hanafī, concerning the words “I almost conceal it”
