Moses to speak with Him, and chose Muhammad to see Him. He also narrated the report of al-Hakam ibn Abān, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbās, which includes the words, “That is when He manifests Himself in His light.” He abridged it and said, “There are further words in it,” meaning words he did not quote.

He also narrated a report from Jābir ibn Zayd, from ‘Atā’ ibn Abī Rabāh, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbās, concerning His words:

“Then he drew near and came closer”
