who said: ʿAlī ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī, Abū al-Hasan al-Tammār, narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ʿUmar ibn Ahmad ibn Abī Naʿmar al-Saffār narrated to us, saying: Yūsuf ibn Ahmad ibn Harb ibn al-Hakam al-Ashʿarī al-Basrī narrated to us, saying: Rawh ibn ʿUbādah narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, who said:
Concerning Allah’s words, ‘And he certainly saw him in another descent’ (13), the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: ‘I saw my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, in direct oral address—there is no doubt about it.’ Concerning His words, ‘At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary’ (14), he said: ‘I saw Him at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, until the light of His face became clear to him.’”
I say: This hadith is a lie, fabricated in the name of the Messenger of Allah
