the hadith of Mu‘ādh, as already noted in Ibn Khuzaymah’s remarks. Abū Qilābah mistakenly named Ibn ‘Abbās, whereas it was actually Ibn ‘Ā’ish. This is not Qatādah’s hadith from ‘Ikrimah, for that report does not contain this. Yet Ahmad regarded them all as originally a single hadith.

There is no doubt that Qatādah had this report from ‘Ikrimah; their wording matches that of the hadith of Umm al-Tufayl, although it contains additions. It is the hadith narrated by al-Hakam ibn Abān from ‘Ikrimah. Ibn Khuzaymah narrated it, citing it as evidence, and said: Muhammad ibn ‘Īsā narrated to us, saying: Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishāq narrated to me.
