al-Tustarī, who said: al-Himmānī narrated to us; Wakī‘ narrated to us, from Mūsā ibn ‘Ubayda, from Muhammad ibn Ka‘b al-Qurazī, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked, ‘Have you seen your Lord, Mighty and Majestic?’ He replied, ‘I saw Him with my heart, but I did not see Him with my eyes.’”
Although this report has a disconnected chain, it is supported by what is established from the Companions—both those who asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about his seeing his Lord, such as Abū Dharr, and those who reported that he said, “I saw my Lord,” such as Ibn Abbās.
