Ziyādah ibn Ayyūb, who said: ‘Hushaym narrated to us.’ He then related it through his chain of transmission from Abū Dharr, who said: ‘He saw Him with his heart, but did not see Him with his eyes.’”

Hanbal likewise transmitted from Imam Ahmad, as al-Khallāl narrated from him: “I asked Abū ʿAbd Allāh, ‘Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) see his Lord?’ He replied, ‘It was a dream-vision; he saw Him with his heart.’”
