Rather, hold to what you have apprehended, and observe due reverence in facing the Sacred Mosque. The most binding requirement of reverence is not to confine the Face to that particular location, for it is only one of the locations toward which someone may turn. It has thus become clear to you concerning Allah that He is in the location of every direction.
There are only beliefs: everyone is correct, everyone who is correct is rewarded, everyone who is rewarded is blessed, and everyone who is blessed enjoys Allah’s pleasure, even if he suffers misery for a time in the abode of the Hereafter. Those who receive divine care have suffered illness and pain in this worldly life, although we know that they are blessed and are people of truth.
Some of Allah’s servants are overtaken by those pains in the life to come, in an abode called Hell. Nevertheless, none of the people of knowledge who have uncovered the matter as it truly is asserts categorically that they will have no bliss peculiar to them in that abode. This may come through the removal of pain they previously experienced—so that their bliss would be their respite when experiencing that pain—or it may be a distinct, additional bliss, like the bliss enjoyed by the inhabitants of the Gardens in the Gardens.
